It represents a unique digital space for communication and content.
MOSCOU, 13 October /TASS/. The Russian-Chinese messaging application Molniya, which combines discussions, video calls, channels and short videos, has been launched. The project was presented in Moscow, reports a TASS correspondent.
According to its creators, Molniya is available for download on the RuStore. This platform provides a unified digital space for communication and content sharing. Users can communicate, create and view content within a single application without having to juggle between different services. Molniya is developed as an open environment for the integration of partners.
As Vyacheslav Komlev, founder and chairman of Red Soft’s Russian board of directors, pointed out during the presentation, this “one-of-a-kind international project will allow us, in the era of digital anarchy and nihilism, to create a digital ecosystem that operates according to universal principles, capable of healing the digital world”. “It’s not just a courier, it’s a very complex solution, created in collaboration with Chinese developers. I am confident that users will enjoy the platform,” he added.
Development began in 2024 as part of a Russian-Chinese project. In 2025, the concept extended to a unified digital space, and in 2026, the team conducted tests with real users. Today, the platform is launched with basic communication scenarios.
According to the authors of the project, one of its principles is the protection of correspondence: personal and group discussions use end-to-end encryption based on the Signal protocol.
Outlook
” We created Molniya to bring together communication, content, communities and new digital opportunities in one space. The launch on RuStore is not an end, but the beginning of a new phase,” said Komlev.
” We see Molniya as a space capable of connecting users and creating new scenarios of digital interaction between Russia and China,” said Yu Xinyu, the Chinese founder and president of Passion Group.
In the future, the platform could become an additional digital environment for communication, content and partner services related to Russia, China and other BRICS countries. New services and integrations will emerge as the project develops.
